At Greenwood Trails, we have various designations for staff members. Most counselors will live in the bunks with the campers, helping supervise them and ensuring their physical and emotional safety. Following are the different staff designations at Greenwood Trails:
Cabin Counselor
Responsible for leading a group of campers at a certain age level throughout their stay at camp. Reside in the cabins with your group; supervise cabin, coach campers through choosing their activities, and assist Activity Leaders at specific program areas. Need fun-loving individuals confident in their leadership skills and ability to be positive, nurturing role models. Experience with children a plus. Additional training will be provided. Must be at least 18.
Activity Leader
Lead support staff and campers in one of the following skill areas: archery, boating, waterfront/pool, theater arts, fine arts, sports, skate park, adventure/challenge, environmental studies, or farm. Design and implement curricula and activities for campers in grades K – 10. Reside in a cabin with a certain age level and assist Cabin Counselors. Enthusiasm, patience, basic teaching and/or coaching experience, and knowledge of skill required. Additional training will be provided. Must be at least 18.
Junior Counselor
Assist Cabin Counselors while living and working with a cabin of children at a certain age level. Excellent opportunity for individuals with much enthusiasm and willingness to be a positive role model, but with little previous counselor experience. Training will be provided for the right candidates.
Housekeeping
Oversee general maintenance of cabins and bathrooms; provide daily sanitation of all bathing facilities, and assist the Cabin Counselors in teaching campers basic room cleaning and personal hygiene. Additional training will be provided. Must be at least 18.
Kitchen Assistant
Assist Food Services Director at all meals by prepping, serving, and storing food for entire camp. Dishwashing, preparing dining hall for meals, cleaning of dining hall, filling of water jugs, serving of snacks, and prepping and packing for camp-outs. Some kitchen experience required. Will train the right person in Greenwood Trails protocol. Must be at least 18.
Maintenance
Assist Facilities Manager in daily upkeep of camp and minor repairs. Some experience in lawn mowing and trimming, woodwork, plumbing, light construction, and painting preferred. Additional training will be provided. Must be at least 18.
